Online Play Updates for Yomi 2!

Hello everyone! Today’s Yomi 2 digital patch includes significant updates to online play. There’s online rankings, leaderboards, player profiles, an XP system, as well as bug fixes and improvements.

The full patch notes are listed here, but we’d like to go over some of the new features here in this blog post.

We're adding a ranking system to the game. It's similar to the one used in Yomi 1 (and in Virtua Fighter, by the way!), where you start out in the student ranks and have very easy progression for a while (you can't go down in student ranks—only up). Ranking up with any character in student ranks will rank up ALL your characters. Then you'll reach the master ranks, which work differently. There, each character ranks up separately and over time and you can go down in ranks from losing. You start at the lowest master rank and over time, your master rank converges with your actual skill.

The Leaderboard lists the overall rankings of all players on the server; you can see a given player’s name, account level, character level, their character, most played gem, and finally their League (Diamond, Legend, etc.)

You can filter by League or by individual characters, and check your own personal global rank.

See if you can fight your way to the top of the leaderboard!

From here, you can also check the profiles of individual players. It shows a player’s offline (Career Mode) and online stats, as well as their individual ranks and time played for all of their characters.

You’ve already proven that you’re the best Yomi 2 player in Fairview City; now it’s time to show the rest of the world!

Don’t forget to join our community on Discord and show off your new rank! It’s time to start the climb.
